TRADE: Barrie Colts acquire Jacob Tortora from Kitchener Rangers. #OHL

Today the Barrie Colts announced that they have completed a trade with the Kitchener Rangers. The deal see's former Barrie Colts 1st round pick (19th overall in 2015) Jacob Tortora come back to Barrie in exchange for a 15th round pick in 2019.

There are some conditions in this deal. If Tortora plays a game with the Colts, the 15th round pick to the Rangers will be changed into a 3rd round pick in 2020 (Oshawa) and a 2nd round pick in 2023 (Sudbury). If Jacob plays as an over-ager in Barrie, the Ponies will send the Rangers their 2nd round pick in the 2024 draft.

The former 1st round pick was traded from Barrie to Kitchener after being selected by Barrie but ended up going to play for Boston College of the NCAA. The original deal saw the Colts get the Rangers 15th round pick in 2016 as well as three conditional 2nd round picks in 2020, 2021 and 2022. However, the Colts have agreed to exclude those conditions as part of this trade.

Tortora has played 38 games with Boston and has put up 6 goals and 9 assists in that time. The 1999 born winger is 5'8 and weighs 161 pounds. In 2016-17 he won the U18 WJC Gold medal with Team USA. Jacob registered 2 goals and 2 assists in that tournament.
